Antoni Gaudí i Cornet

Although I have not studied architecture, I became a fan after living in Europe. One catholic church that had me in awe was the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain that was designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí i Cornet. Another popular site to see in Barcelona is Parque Güell which is a park with lots of architectual influences by Gaudí. He uses alot of ceramics, stained glass, carpentry as well as ironwork. The only piece that Gaudí was unable to finish was the Sagrada Familia due to his unexpected death.

This link is where you can buy tickets to the Gaudí experience but also gives you a biography, tells you a little about his works and some projects he never carried out.

This link gives more detailed life story and explores more phases of his work such as the naturalist period in which he perfected his personal style.

Lastly this link is the website for the Sagrada Familia that tells about the history and symbology of the Sagrada Familia and also has many photos and a virtual tour.

This is one of the many amazing parts of the interior of the Sagrada Familia
