Stephen King

Stephen King is an American Author famous for writing phenomenal horror and suspense stories, which are often turned into very popular films. Some of his most known novels are It, Carrie, The Shining, Pet Sematary, Shawshank Redemption, and many more. He was born in Portland, Maine, in 1947. King has a wife and three children; some who are also writers.
I find Stephen King's work so compelling because I love horror. He is known as the "King of Horror". He takes real life fears and turns them into something terrifying. I prefer Stephen King's type of horror over any other horror because it's not over the top and it's not cheesy. It's the perfect amount of suspense that makes you think about it for days after reading it. It easy to try to overcompensate a
story to try to make it "scary". Stephen King knows exactly how to leave readers with chills without being gory or over the top. He really focuses on people's feelings, and what triggers those feelings to leave a long lasting impression. I watched Pet Sematary as a very young child, and those memories of watching it still haunt me to this day.
